Merrie Buchsbaum is a self-taught polymer artist and started Merrily Made by Merrie in 1992. Her award-winning creations have been sold around the world, but she is proud to call her products “handmade in America.” Merrie is known for her incredible sense of color and intricate mosaic patterns. She graduated from Goucher College with a teaching and art degree, then earned a masters degree in natural science from Wesleyan University and a masters degree in nutrition from the University of Bridgeport. When not in the studio Merrie loves being outdoors; she loves to whitewater kayak, bike, ski, garden and travel. Merrie’s inspirational studio of Merrily Made is located in Cromwell, CT, a small town along the banks of the Connecticut River. Her studio is in close proximity to numerous farms, waterways and mountains; Merrie finds inspiration in her serene surroundings and values the variety that each day brings.
