Houston Llew Spiritiles: Silent Night

“You make known to me the path of life.” —Psalm 16:11

Every Spiritile has its own story that inspires, uplifts, and brings a hopeful connection to life. Handcrafted in Charleston, each is made with finely ground colored glass that is hand-painted, fused to copper in a kiln at 1500 degrees, and then wrapped around a wooden frame (see more here). Spiritiles can be hung on the wall or displayed freestanding, and withstand direct sun, humidity, and even outdoor conditions. Care and hanging information here.

Color variations occur in this Spiritile. Each Silent Night features variations in the sky, ranging from light blues to dark creating a beautiful shift with every glance. Refer to photo to see possible variations in the sky.

A Christmas Story from Houston Llew:

There's something about Christmas that brings us back to where we began. The glow of candles, the twinkle of lights, children dreaming of snow days and St. Nick. Each year, we adorn our tannenbaum with treasured ornaments, each holding memories of Christmases past. The gathering of family reminds us that the greatest gift was never beneath the tree. The gift has always been the love we share and the eternal flame of traditions passed from one generation to the next.

Some Christmases are filled with laughter and the playful spirit of Frosty. Others are quieter, when we miss someone who once sat beside us. Yet somehow, a familiar song or a little yuletide magic brings those memories close again. I believe that's the heart of Christmas. And perhaps no moment captures that feeling quite like Christmas Eve. As candles are lit and the familiar melody of Silent Night fills the air, the world seems to stand still. We remember a humble manger, the Star of Bethlehem shining like an aurora in the darkness, and the promise of hope that began so long ago.

309: Silent Night
“You make known to me the path of life.” -Psalm 16:11

I created Silent Night to capture that peace, that wonder, and the light that continues to guide us. My hope is that it becomes part of your family's Christmas traditions, bringing back cherished memories while making room for new ones. From my family to yours, may the beauty of that first silent night fill your home with peace, hope, and love.
