Houston Llew Spiritiles: Dreambound

Houston Llew Spiritiles

“Go forth boldly in the direction of your dreams.” —Henry David Thoreau

Every Spiritile has its own story that inspires, uplifts, and brings a hopeful connection to life. Handcrafted in Atlanta, each is made with finely ground colored glass that is handpainted, fused to copper in a kiln at 1500 degrees, and then wrapped around a wooden frame (see more here). Spiritiles can be hung on the wall or displayed freestanding, and withstand direct sun, humidity, and even outdoor conditions. Care and hanging information here.

Artist Statement About This Piece: This adventure-seeking piece beckons us to journey forward into the life we dream of, to move without fear toward the direction that makes us feel alive. We can use the tools offered us to navigate the path, but the decision on where to go and how to get there is our own. It can be daunting, uncertain. Yet, meeting those feelings with an equal amount of passion for our dreams equips us with just enough awareness of the potential challenges, and sustains our energy to press on.
