Accompanying the poster: Copping Road wends its way along the shoreline, rising and falling with the landscape, cresting—when travelling from the east—at the second bluff. Here, in the brush and almost hidden from view, is a tiny knoll. And in that tiny knoll is an even tinier door. This is the home of Charlotte Livingston Eastern Chipmunk.

Inside, the whirr of Charlotte’s hand-crank sewing machine creates a song that ebbs and flows like water. She sits on an old stool perched in front of a large, round window looking out to the lake. Her beautifully gnarled yet nimble fingers move deliberately across the fabric as she finishes quilts for those in need before the cool weather arrives. Rogue lyrics roll around in her head in time with the sewing machine. Charlotte hums along, “Accroches-toi à ton rêve... Hold on tight to your dream...” and smiles knowing that she held tightly to her dream when it needed, but also knew when to hand it over to the world. She pauses, and pats her sewing machine softly: a thank you for allowing her to add her voice to the community, without even saying a word.
