Houston Llew Spiritiles: Feathered Friends (Retired)

Houston Llew Spiritiles

“We have always been and always will be friends. Time can change much, but not that.” —A.A. Milne

Every Spiritile has its own story that inspires, uplifts, and brings a hopeful connection to life. Handcrafted in Atlanta, each is made with finely ground colored glass that is handpainted, fused to copper in a kiln at 1500 degrees, and then wrapped around a wooden frame (see more here). Spiritiles can be hung on the wall or displayed freestanding, and withstand direct sun, humidity, and even outdoor conditions. Care and hanging information here.

Artist Statement About This Piece: Milne, the author of Winnie the Pooh, was known for creating the beloved characters who were the best of friends. These friends would remain together through good times and bad and would always return to their special bond. Their love story, not one of romance but of enduring friendship, reminds us of the friends we’ve had for always and will hold onto forever.
