Cedar strips, in particular, put a spring in Ford’s step; he is completely mesmerized by their intrinsic beauty. But whatever timber is used, every boat is self-powered, be it canoe; kayak; or rowboat. Each is elegantly constructed using only sustainably harvested wood; locally grown to reduce ecological drayage. Because, really, his work was about moving people. In fact, Ford is so passionate about sustainability that he created and sits on the board of the Flora Foundation in support of a healthy woodland.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhen not in his workshop, Ford can be found relaxing in his Muskoka chair reading his favourites—Fuller, Thoreau, and Bohm (especially the dialogues with Krishnamurti). It’s a habit that has set Henry’s circadian cycle all askew and has him bright-eyed clear through ‘til dawn. This wouldn’t be so bad, but it has meant that his nights are spent all alone.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSo, Henry decided to open a moonlight library, nocturnal hours only. There, he’s stocked the shelves with his savoured collection of children’s books (purely for reminiscence sake), with their beautifully rich illustrations and fantastic stories. Experimental and unique books flesh out the collection; it is always a treat to be surprised with each turn of the page. The rest are primarily non-fiction: in pristine condition, with spines whole, pages crisp and nary a dog ear, mysterious stain or margin comment in sight. From Plato to Thoreau, ‘The Pig Who Sang to the Moon’ to ‘Music of the Primes,’ quantum physics to metaphysics.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHenry’s library is surprisingly busy with both book lovers and nocturnes. Delighted, he’s thinking he’ll set up a book club, and an exchange programme. Llewellyn and Li’l Joe finally landed, his parents scurried down the tree to the lawn.  As they cuddled their son, Llewellyn echoed the universe's ballad, which they in turn sing to lull Li’l Joe to sleep.  The notes soothe, and the words inspire and comfort.  As he grows, if he listens and remembers, they will be a guidepost on his journey.
